I highly recommend this novel to anyone who might be on the fence due to luke warm reviews left by others. The characters went from being alive to being flat and uninteresting, the writing became - for lack of a better word - lame, and I thought I'd been dropped into the midst of a middle schoolers fantasy. It is all that it claims to be. All in all, although it says for SPECIAL KIDS, it is for everyone who needs to monitor their intake of certain kids of foods. And unlike so many graduate level works this one is a bargain in a well made Dover edition. John Bradshaw is a wonderful speaker, and advisor. They're all fast-paced, with interesting dilemmas and plots, and I enjoyed the world the author built (urban fantasy is still relatively new to me).
