GC / MS: A Practical User's Guide

Updated and expanded, the classic guide to GC/MS helps chromatographers quickly learn to use this technique for analyzing and identifying compounds. After explaining the fundamentals, it discusses optimizing, tuning, using, and maintaining GC/MS equipment; explores advances in miniaturized and field-portable GC/MS systems and microfluidic components; and more. Complete with a CD-ROM, it covers applications in the environmental laboratory and in forensics, toxicology, and space science. This is the premier resource for professionals in those fields and for students.

EDITORIAL :

From the Publisher
Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is a highly popular analytical system used by organic chemists and analytical chemists in research and in professional analytical labs, including environmental labs. It is used to separate, identify, and quantify individual compounds and substances. Chromatography was used to identify the ingredients of the World Trade Center bomb and was one the main reasons for the quick arrest of the suspects. This book provides information on using, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrument systems in operations laboratories. It contains practical tips based on actual experience, and only enough theory to show the operational variables and how to control them. Readers will gain an understanding of the components in their systems and get them up and running more rapidly.

REVIEW :

To complicate matters, Kitty's cabin is being cursed and she doesn't know who is doing it. True, the drawings are in a real CAD format but they are really nothing more that worthless sketches. No book or approach will work for all folks. The important, canonical, expected houses are here, (Farnsworth, Villa Savoye, Fallingwater, Aalto, Kahn, Gropius, Eames are represented), but there are many pleasant and welcome surprises, like the Wittgenstein house and the rotating Villa Girasole. Most, including this one, have at least a touch of Buddhism in the sense that being anxious is un
