Lewis and Clark and Transportation for a New Nation (Chester Comix)

After the American Revolution, the people of the new United States look westward for a fresh start. President Thomas Jefferson makes the Louisiana Purchase from France 1803 and sends Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the land west of the Mississippi River. The tales the two tell when they return spur this question: How will Americans GET to this new land? Over water, via the Erie Canal? Over a new National Road through the Midwest? This will be a nation founded on transportation! This colorful graphic novel will excite reluctant readers, prepare students for standardized tests in history and help homeschooling parents!

EDITORIAL :

About the Author Bentley Boyd has drawn Chester the Crab for the Daily Press of Newport News, Virginia, since 1995. He has also drawn elephants and donkeys as a political cartoonist, and long ago in his own classes he drew his teachers (none of them as elephants or donkeys or crabs). Bentley studied History and Literature at Harvard University and drew for the college newspaper. He would draw Batman but finds drawing skyscrapers boring. Bentley lives in Williamsburg, Virginia, with his two sons who love Star Wars even more than he does.

If you are interested, perform a search for Dual Degree Programs: University of Peace. What is good is the objective treatment of the author of the realization in later years that WW2 was already ending and the bomb was used for political and military purposes, meaning, to beat the Russians from getting a
